Abstract:
People often say that getting a KAKEN grant is just luck. Do you really think so? It may be true, but there must be some rules for successfully applying. In this presentation, the presenter will introduce general information about the types of grants and application procedures and give tips for making a strong application. She will also tell about her experience of getting KAKEN grants twice and what she found about writing acceptable proposals from the aspects of content and style on the application form.
Profile
Kazumi Kato is a tenured lecturer at Tokai University, school of Marine Science and Technology, Shimizu campus. Her research interests are interlanguage pragmatics, speech acts, task-based language teaching, and cooperative learning. She is also interested in finding opportunities for her students to use authentic English.
